Mad Men Era Advertising

The show “Mad Men” takes viewers into a fictional 1960s, the pre-feminist era, inside the Madison Avenue ad agency Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, and its competitors.
Don Draper: “What do women want?” Roger Sterling: “Who cares?” Reality though is often stranger than fiction. Babies smoking? Alcoholism? Sexism? Welcome to the 1950s and 1960s world of real Mad Men era advertising.

It is a wonder that any woman escaped these times unscathed…well, maybe, we really didn’t?…hence, our deflated egos, residual repressions and depression, and the length and duration of our ensuing battles to be whole.

Kudos to those who survived and thrived!

its just a shame that things have swung so far the other way that it is impossible to have a male character in a regular slot on any tv show that is not retarded and about 10% as intelligent as his wife or significant other
